
Jiaozi is a Chinese dumpling which is famous in China, Japan, and Korea. It is a delicious delicacy and has healthy ingredients.
The dumpling is made up of a ground meat and/or vegetable filling which is wrapped into a thinly rolled piece of dough and is sealed by just pressing the edges together or by simply crimping. Compared to wanton, jiaozi has a thicker skin and is obviously flatter, more oblate, has a double-saucer like shape and it is often eaten with soy-vinegar dipping sauce. The wanton has thinner skin, sphere-shaped and it is often served with broth.
Jiaozi can be divided into different types which depend on how these are cooked. Among the types of delicious dumplings are the boiled dumplings, steamed dumplings, and shallow fried dumplings. Jiaozi has a horn shape and it was invented by Zhang Zhongjing who is among the greatest practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine.
