Known as an ancient kingdom situated in southern Manchuria, southern Russian Maritime province, Goguryeo is among the Three Kingdoms of Korea. It became an active participant in the power struggle for control of the Korean peninsula and also associated with foreign affairs of peer polities in China and Japan.
It developed from a league of different Yemaek tribes to an early state and rapidly expanded its power from their original basin of control in the great Han river drainage. Goguryeo is mountainous and lacks arable land that hinders the province from feeding its people. The province’s culture was said to be shaped with its climate, religion and tense society that people had dealt with because of the numerous wars that the province had waged.
The people’s pastimes in Goguryeo are drinking, singing or dancing. There are also a lot of games which the people enjoy just like wrestling. They also celebrate Domaeng Festival every October.
