Welcome to the marvelous city of Alor Star. It is formerly known as Alor Star and it has a vibrant past which spanned for more than 250 years.

Alor Star has a total population of 400,000 and the city is considered to be among the oldest cities in the region. It is the capital of Kedah, Malaysia and it serves as the Kota Setar District’s Administrative Center, distribution center for manufacturing and agricultural products like the paddy. Alor Star is also the royal seat of Kedah state ever since the city has been established.

Among the beautiful places of interest in Alor Star are the Balai Besar or which is also called the Grand Audience Hall, Balai Nobat, Balai Seni Negeri or the State Art Gallery, Mahkamah Tinggi Negeri or also called the State High Court, the Wednesday market which is known as the Pekan Rabu, and many other places.
