VientianeVientiane is the largest and capital city of Laos. Located on a bending bend on the Mekong River, Vientiane is a home to many of Laos’ only bowling alleys and mosques.

Fa Ngum founded the kingdom of Lan Xang in 1354 where Vientiane became a significant administrative city. It was then established as the capital of Lan Xang in 1560 by King Setthathirath. Vientiane’s name is derived from Pali and the original meaning of it was “the king’s grove of sandalwood.” It is also said that the city means “City of the Moon” in the native Lao language.

There are many places to stroll on the city. There are parks, museum, hotels, and other historical landmarks found in the city. Some of these famous places are the Buddha Park, Haw Phra Kaew, Patuxay, Pha That Luang, and many more sites to venture on. It is served by the Wattay International Airport so it is easier for the visitors to go to the place.
