
Well known for its full moon party at Haad Rin Beach, Ko Pha Ngan is also famous as a backpackers destination. It is a beautiful island found in the Gulf of Thailand in South East Thailand. It measures to about 168 square kilometers and its main town Thong Sala.
Its name was derived from the word “Ngan” which is the southern dialect that means “sand bar” because there are a lot of sand bars offshore found around the island. It was on October 1, 1970 when the island was established and was upgraded to a full district on April 12, 1977. There are a lot of deserted beaches in the island where snorkeling and learning to dive can be a great experience to do in the beaches.
It has a total of 250 beach resorts and there are numerous of costly resorts that provide daily yoga facilities, yoga teachers’ training, and meditation, variety of healing, healthy and natural therapies, spa massage and pampering services.
