Zamboanga City is also known as “El Orgullo de Mindanao†which means The Pride of Mindanao.
It is described as a first class highly urbanized city in the Philippines and is among the first chartered cities in the country. It is situated on the southernmost tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula on the island of Mindanao.

Its exports grew by 6% in 1995 and it grows continually. The top export items of the city are coconut, oil, marine products, and processed food.
