Coming to Gujranwala

Hailed as the fifth largest city in Pakistan, Gujrabwala borders with Ghakhar Mandi with some small towns and villages.Gujranwala

It was in 1951 when Gujranwala was converted into the district’s capital that led to the establishment of new industries in the city. There is also the city’s hydroelectric project that gives power coming from the Chenab River. Gujranwala has rice and sugar mills and also glassworks found in the locality. The city in fact is a major industrial and agricultural city of Punjab.

The city’s industrial areas do have textile mills, Cutlery industry, and numerous agricultural processing plants. Gujranwala’s major exports are textiles, carpets, glass goods, medical equipment, leather products, metal utensils, agricultural equipment, and also automotive machinery parts. Going to the city is easy for it serves as the major center of rail, highway and river transportation. It also has a dry port which paves the way for the export of local products.
