Philippines is known to have delectable delicacies. Dinengdeng is no exception to that. It is a delicious delicacy of the Ilocanos which is also called as inabraw. It is likened to a pinakbet but it has fewer vegetables and it has more bagoong soup base.
The vegetables used in it are the jute leaves, pods and leaves of the horseradish tree, leaves and the fruits of the bitter melon, squash and blossoms, alakon blossoms, amaranth leaves, sweet potato tubers and leaves, kabatiti gourd, string beans and its shoots, talinum, chayote squash and shoots, chili peppers and banana blossoms.
There are also other vegetables mixed in it like the corn, West-Indian pea blossoms, winter melon, eggplant, okra or lady’s finger, mushroom and a lot more. With its ingredients, it can be noted that the delicacy is good for everybody’s health especially to the children. Filipino mothers also put leftover fried fish or meat to the delicacy. Â
