A chief town in Kotli District, Pakistsan, Kotli is not yet a modernized city but it has all the basic facilities such as bazaars, banks, hospitals, colleges and telephone and telegraph offices.

Kotli

Its landscape is mostly mountainous and the roads are carved into the mountains. There are about six towns or areas in the district namely: Teenda, Hajiabad, Khoiratta, Fatehpur, Karela Majhan and Kotli. The roads in the city link Mirpur and Kotli with few interchanges. The city is also directly linked with Rawalakot through Trarkhal.

Kotli today is considered a summer boom town which has a mass emigration that took over Pakistan during the 1960s. Thus, this created a steady boom of summe holiday makers from Britain. The real estate value of a bus stop town between Mirpur and Muzzatarabad had also led to a thriving summer economy. Kotli has become a vsion of three storey mansions which have taken over the once barren roads in the outer ring villages and the expanding city found on the brim of the Poonch River.
