Philippines as an archipelago has many bodies of water that are very beautiful and are very helpful to the Filipinos.
Among the majestic and wonderful bodies of water that is visited by many foreigners is the Taal Lake. It is a freshwater lake in Batangas on the island of Luzon.
It is located within a caldera that is created from large eruptions 500,000 and 100,000 years ago. It is the country’s third largest lake. It is connected to the sea and is a home to numerous endemic species.
Among the species found in the lake are the tawilis or the only freshwater sardine in the world, sea snakes, and bull sharks. The reason for the formation of the beautiful lake’s sulfuric content is the Taal Volcano which lies on an island found in the center of the lake. Tourists and visitors are very welcome in the place and regular tours are available to many. After crossing the lake, the trip usually is directed to the top of Volcano Island.
