Yerevan for one is the largest city and is the capital of Armenia. It is located on the Hrazdan River and is known to be the administrative, cultural and industrial center of Armenia. Mountains are surrounding the upper part of the city while the southern part descends to the banks of the river Hrazdan. Yerevan has a relatively continental climate with dry, hot summers, and cold and short winters. Yerevan dates back to the 8th century BC.
The city is the center of industry, transportation, and culture of the country. It is also the country’s financial hub, a home to the American National Bank, Armenian Stock Exchange, and also to the country’s largest commercial banks. The city is currently planning in redeveloping its structures and Soviet-style apartments and buildings are demolished to place new modern buildings.
