Welcome to Jerash, located in the north of Jordan and is 30 miles south of the capital Amman. It is famous for the ruins of the Greco-Roman city of Gerasa which is also called Antioch on the Golden River.

The city is regarded as among the most significant and best preserved Roman cities and it became a city of the Decapolis. Jerash is said to have developed dramatically during the last century because of its strategic location in the center of Jordan and due to the growing importance of the tourism industry to the city. It is now hailed as the second-most popular tourist attraction in the country.
They celebrate the well known Jerash Festival since 1981. People in the city have been doing this for three weeks of long summer program of dance, musical and theatrical performances. It is also considered as the largest cultural activities in the region.
