India cannot be described in a single word or phrase. It has many landmarks to be explored and places to stroll on.
One of its significant landmarks is the Taj Mahal. It is a mausoleum built on the southern bank of Yamuna River by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Arjumand Banu Begam who died in childbirth. It is surrounded by flowers and plants and is one of the eight wonders of the world.
Jama Masjid is one of the country’s largest mosques. It is a well-built structure where many Muslims offer their prayer. It was built by Shah Jahan in the Red Fort in Delhi. They also have a marble temple called the Lotus Temple situated in South Delhi. It is where people meditate and it is also the symbol of spiritual unity.
India has many historical places which are often holy places to the people. It shows how people from the early times until now give importance to their faith.
