
Largely based on rice, noodles, vegetables, meats and tofu, Korean cuisine are internationally famous. Their traditional meals are noted for a great number of side dishes which accompany their delicious steam-cooked short-grain rice, soup and kimchi. Their foods are usually seasoned with sesame oil, doenjang or fermented soybean paste, soy sauce, salt, garlic, ginger and gochujang or red chili paste.
The country is said to be the largest consumer of garlic ahead the rest of Asia. They have a cuisine that varies every season and they have simple dishes but are well known for its strong and pungent flavors. When it comes to meat dishes, they have bulgogi which is a thinly sliced or shredded beef that is marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, sugar, green onions and black pepper. They also have galbi which can be pork or beef ribs that are cooked on a metal plate over charcoal in the middle of the table.
