
A city situated in Southern Taiwan, Kaohsiung is said to be the densest as well as the second largest city in the country. It is a second-level political division with the same status as a province. The city is serves as the major center for manufacturing, refining and transportation.
Kaohsiung is also the major port through which most of the country’s oil is imported. It produces aluminum, wood and paper products, fertilizers, cement, metals, machinery and ships. The city’s harbor is one of the largest four largest in the world making the city are the center of the country’s shipbuilding industry and also a home to a big Republic of China Navy base.
It has a tropical climate with average temperatures that range from 18.6 to 28.7 degrees Celsius and an average humidity between 60 and 81%. There are a lot of historical landmarks in the city which include the coral mountains Ape Hill, Shoushan and Banpingshan.
