The city of Mecca is honored by Muslims for having the holiest site of their faith, Islam. This holy place has the Masjid al-Haram and also a pilgrimage for the Muslims.

In the holy place of the Muslims, they often have a pilgrimage which involves an extended visit to the city and is required of all well-capacitated Muslims who have enough money to visit the place at least once in their life.
