We’re not talking about artifacts or ancient things here. Antique has another meaning in the Philippines and it spells B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L landmarks. Yes, Antique is a well known province in the country which is situated in the Western Visayas region. San Jose is the capital of the province and it is found at the western part of Panay Island which borders Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo at its east.

The province is said to be among the three old sakups or districts of Panay before the Spanish colonizers came to the island. It was formerly known as Hantik—denotes the large red ants which inhabit the island called lantik-lantik. People in Antique are known to be hospitable and they have a good relationship especially to those people who visit their place.
Palay, the primary crop of Antique, is said to have a good yield for the past years. There are also a lot of natural resources which can be found in the province. Among these resources are coal, marble, copper, gold, limestone and silica gemstone. Antique also has bountiful water resources.
