India has a very rich culture and it can be classified into different forms. It has been influenced by different religions and customs all over the world.

The Indians set a policy regarding their culture. They have three major objectives in their policy one is to preserve the cultural heritage of the country, second is to inculcate Indian art awareness among the people, and third is to promote high standards in making and performing art fields.

Indian music has varieties of folk, popular, pop, and classical music and it also includes Carnatic and Hindustani music. The Indian dance is also well-known all over the world. The main styles in Indian dance are the Bharatanatyam, Kathak Odissi, Yakshagana, Kuchipudi, Mohinittam, Bhangra, Manipuri and Kathakali. There are also many forms of Indian folk dances observed during regional festivals. India also has beautiful plays just like Shakuntala and Maghadoot which are among the oldest plays from the Indian literary traditions.
