Sankranthi is a festival done by farmers of India which symbolizes the start of the harvest season.Sankranthi

The festival is usually celebrated in Andhra Pradesh for three days. Sankranthi is the time to watch the cultural greatness of Andhra Pradesh where every village and town in Andhra is filled with drawings in front of their houses. There is also a cock fighting which is required in villages. On the first day, they have the Bhogi where during the night the people will burn all the old articles in their houses. Sankranti is done on the second day which is the big festival. During this day, everyone wear a new dress and they pray to their favorite god.

They also offer all the sweets and dishes that they had prepared for the day and eat. The third day of the celebration is called Kanuma where people eat meat after eating too many sweets from the previous day.
