Are you a Muslim and got no place in mind to spend some time for spiritual growth? Well, how about a day or more in Medina, the second holiest city in Islam and is the burial place of Muhammad?
The place’s significance as a religious site is derived from the existence of the Tomb of Prophet Muhammad just inside the Masjid-e-Nabawi or is also called The Mosque of the Prophet. It was built in an area which is adjacent to the home of Muhammad and Muslims do believe prophets should be buried at the same place that they died. Medina is also the place where the first Islam mosque was built. The mosque was called Masjid Quba or the Quba Mosque.
Just like in Mecca, Medina only allows Muslims to enter the place. Medina is also a destination for numerous Muslims on their holy annual pilgrimage and many Muslims come to Medina to visit the Tomb of Prophet and also to worship at mosques in a rare unified celebration.
