Philippine art is known worldwide and it has been influenced by the European, American, Chinese and Native Austronesian traditions. The native Filipinos are fond of weaving and pottery is also common to some areas of the country.

           There are also ornate carvings seen in the southern part of the country. The wooden art is a popular hobby and is usually displayed in the different parts of the house. It was in the 17th century when artistic paintings created by the great Filipino painters began. Among these famous painters are Luna, Amorsolo and Zobel.
           Filipinos are also fond of dancing. They have their beautiful folk dances such as tinikling, maglalatik, singkil and a lot more. Aside from graceful dances, the Filipinos are also fond of making poems. Tanaga for one, is a kind of Filipino poetrywhich is made up of four lines with seven syllables where each of them have the same rhyme at the end of the line.
