Amazing Race has definitely influenced me in seeking splendid and remarkable places all over the world. Kota Kinabalu was among the places which were featured by the TV show. The place is regarded as the capital of Sabah which is a state in Malaysia.

It is situated on the northwest coast of the island of Borneo. Kota Kinabalu has a total population of 532,129 and it serves as the largest urban center in Sabah and ranks sixth in Malaysia. It is a tourist getaway and also a major gateway into Sabah and Borneo. Kota Kinabalu is among the major industrial and commercial centers in East Malaysia.

I guess it was chosen to be one of the pit stops in Amazing Race for it has a lot of leisure spots and conservation areas. Anjung Samudra for one, is a waterfront entertainment spot in Kota Kinabalu which has restaurants, cafes, pubs and also a night club.
