Known as one of the most popular tourist destination in Philippines, Tagaytay is a third class city in the province of Cavite.

The city gives a good view of the Taal Volcano and it is a famous summer tourist destination for its cool climate because of its high altitude. It lies in top of the Tagaytay Ridge and is the highest point in Cavite. The view serves as the city’s main industry. It is said that the word Tagaytay came from the word “taga”which means to cut and the “itay” which means father. The city became the sanctuary for revolutionaries during the Philippine revolution in the year 1896.

Among the beautiful sites which one could visit in Tagaytay is the Divine Word Sanctuary which is among the biggest schools of theology in Southeast Asia, Tagaytay Picnic Grove which is a popular picnic grove and it also provides the finest view of the volcano far below. There is also the People’s Park in the Sky which is an artful mixture of natural and man-made attraction placed on the highest point of Tagaytay.
