Celebrated worldwide by Muslims, Eid ul-Adha is a religious festival which commemorates Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Isamael for Allah.
It is celebrated for three days and it begins on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijja of the lunar Islamic calendar. It is the day after the pilgrims in Hajj move down from Mount Arafat and it usually happens 70 days after the end of the month of Ramadan. During this day, men, women and children wear their best clothing and they perform the Eid prayer in any of the mosques in the world.
Distribution of meat among people is an important part of the festival. There is also the chanting of Takbir done before the Eid prayer during the first day and also after prayers in the duration of Eid. Eid ul-Adha is a great celebration of the Muslims which show how they treasure and love their culture and traditions.
