The Philippine literature is said to have emerged with great fables and legends of the pre-colonial Philippines. They were still written in a pre-Hispanic writing system down to the Mexican and Spanish influences. Today, there are a lot of the country’s literatures which are written in English.Philippine Literature

It was in the 1880s when classic literature of the country is focused on nationalism. Among the famous writers of the country are Jose Rizal- the country’s national hero, Pedro Paterno, Jesus Balmori, Huerta, Farolan, Licsi, Lumba, del Pilar and Castillo. In the year 1915, newspapers in the country were published with the English medium.

Among the famous literatures in the Philippines are Biag ni Lam-Ang, Ibong Adarna, Florante at Laura, Doctrina Christiana, Manuvu’s Tuwaang, Indarapatra at Sulayman, Sulod’s Hinilawod, Maranaw;s Bantugan, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. The last two novels mentioned were written by Jose Rizal and these two novels were aimed to create a Filipino sense of identity during the Spanish regime. The Filipinos are also fond of riddles, epics and myths.

i’m looking for the characteristics,the famous writings and the prominent filipino writers during pre-colonial period(old literature) in the philippines,,do you have all of these??
and also the significant events happened during these period,,what can you say about these??

can i ask for a help???we have research in literature,,and i would like to know the characteristics,famous writings,prominent filipino people and the significant events happened during precolonial period (1500-1565) in philippine literature,,???do you have a files about these topics??please response…thank you..
