A first class urban city in the province of Bulacan, Philippines, Meycauayan is situated about 19 kilometers north of Manila.Meycauayan

Meycauayan is famous for its jewelry and tanning industry and it also serves as home to numerous industrial parks which most of it are located at Barangays Iba, Camalig and Pantoc. It is surrounded with plain land and gentle rolling hills. The slope of the city dips towards a west to north westerly direction. There are rivers, natural lake and drainage waterways which envelope the area. Its name was derived from the Tagalog word may kawayan meaning “a place full of bamboos.”

The city was one of the largest municipalities in Bulacan. It was on March 5, 2001 when Meycauayan was declared a component city. The city’s municipal hall was moved from Baranay Poblacion to a newer structure in Barangay Camalig. Meycauayan became the province’s third city along with San Jose del Monte and Malolos on December 10, 2006.
