One of the two Malaysian independent states on the beautiful island of Borneo, Sarawak is also known as Bumi Kenyalang which simply means Land of the Hornbills. Sarawak is situated on the north-west of the magnificent island and is the largest state of the country.Sarawak

Sarawak is filled with tropical rain forests which serve as home to bountiful plant and also animal species. Ranges of high hills and mountains are the ones that separate the state from the Indonesian part of Borneo, Kalimantan. There are also nice flowing river found in the country and some of these are the Sarawak River, Lupar River, Saribas River, Rajang River, Bram River, Limbang River and the Trusan River which flows into the Brunei Bay.

It has vast areas of lowland and highland enchanting rainforest. There are about 28 ethnic groups inhabiting the country with varied language, culture and also lifestyle. With the country’s abundant nature, they merely depend on it as their source of income and it is said that LNG and petroleum also contributed to the country’s economy.
