The Kapampangans are known as the eighth largest Filipino ethnic group. They are also regarded as the only ethnic group in the country which have a dominant Chinese ancestry. The first Kapampangans have actually descended from Austronesian-speaking immigrants to Luzon in the Iron Age.Kapampangan

Today, the Kapampangans inhabit the provinces of Pampanga and southern Tarlac. There are also Kapampangans in Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Bulacan and Zambales. The Kapampangan communities are also found in the islands of Mindoro, Palawan and Mindanao.

They are among the eight provinces in the Philippines that revolt against the Spanish. They were able to produce two presidents, three chief justices, senate president, the first Filipino cardinal and a lot of figures in public service, diplomacy, education, journalism and in the business world. Their language is a member of the Meso-Philippine group of the Western Malayo-Polynesian languages which is Kapampangan. A lot of Kapampangan are Roman Catholics, Ang Dating Daan members and others are Protestants.
