Welcome to Mount Tai, regarded as a historical mountain situated north of the Tai’an City in Shandong Province, China. It is also considered as among the “Five Sacred Mountains of Taoism” and is associated with sunrise, birth and renewal.
In the year 1987, the mountain has been listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and by the year 2003, it has remarkably attracted about 6 million visitors. It is described as a tilted fault-block mountain and Mount Tai is simply the oldest example of a paleo-metamorphic formation from the Cambrian Period in Eastern China. It lies in the zone of oriental deciduous forest where 80% of its area is filled with lush vegetation.
The Dai Temple which is the Temple of the God of Mount Tai, is renowned as the largest and the most complete ancient building complex in the area. It is very easy to view the magnificent place. One only has to take a bus which terminates at the Midway Gate to Heaven and from there he/she would take a cable car that connects to the summit.
