Made up of four young stratovolcanoes that overly other older volcanic structures, Camiguin is a small yet beautiful island province of Philippines in the northern coast of Mindanao.

Its name is derived from the native word “Kamagong” which is a tree of the Ebony family who had inhabited near Lake Mainit in the magnificent province of Surigao del Norte. The manobos are the ones who had first lived in the island and had migrated to Surigao. The island’s old native language was called “Kinamigin” that is very similar to Surigao’s dialect.
There are many amazing spots in Camiguin and some of these are the Ardent Spring, Katibawasan Falls, White Island and there are also old churches found in the different parts of the island and one of these is the Sto. Rosario Church built in 1882. Tourists can also stay in the homely accommodations in the island after wandering in the island the whole day.
