The Indian costume is one of the most beautiful garments in the world. Many are awed with the kind of cloth and the way that Indians wear their clothing.

One of the most famous dresses for females in India is the salwar kameez which is made up of loose trousers and is topped by a long loose shirt. Salwar Kameez is usually worn with a narrow scarf or a veil which is called a dupatta. Women are also fond of wearing colorful swirling skirts which they call lehenga and they pair it with a short bodice which is called choli.

For men in India, they commonly wear dhoti and kurta which are worn in the western and central regions. During special occasions, they wear a sherwani. There is also the salwar kameez which is often in plain white cotton and is topped with a dark waistcoat. They also have the lungi which is a wrap-around.
