Ever been to Dushanbe? If not, then it’s high time to experience the wonders of the city! Dushanbe is known as the capital of Tajikistan and its name is derived from the Persian word for Monday which refers to the act that it was known as a famous Monday marketplace.

It is located on the confluence of two rivers Varzob and Kafernihon. It was in the year 1929 when the city became the capital of the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic. Dushanbe is a vibrant and attractive place most especially every early spring and summer just as when the boulevards and trees are all in full bloom. There are also numerous parks and zoological attractions in the city.

Some of the sources of income of the people in Dushanbe are mining of coal, lead and arsenic. They also have a leading cotton textile center where they produce silk. The city is currently home to numerous modern telecommunications, aeronautic and other business corporations.
