A mystical island province of the Philippines, Siquijor is found in the Central Visayas region and is said to be the third smallest province in the country in population and land area.Siquijor

The island was formerly called by the Spanish as Isla del Fuego or simply the Island of Fire due to the island’s eerie glow. It was on September 17, 1971 when the island became an independent province. Siquijor lies from southeast from Cebu and Negros just across Cebu Strait and southwest to the beautiful province of Bohol.

There are about 81,598 people living in Siquijor and the island has one of the highest literacy rates in the Philippines. Going to Siquijor is very easy especially to those who would want to discover why the place is called a mystical island. Tourists and visitors to the place can go to the port of Larena to go to Dumaguete and they can travel by Delta Fast Ferries, Inc.
